The Modern West

The Modern West focuses one season a year on the reporting from the Wyoming Public Radio's journalists, expanding on the wide-ranging stories they've been working on throughout the year. This season features two episodes about the wolf incident in Pinedale, another about how the Episcopal Church's returned 200 artifacts to the Northern Arapaho and another about a unique program to reduce recidivism on the Wind River Reservation.

Come join podcast host and producer Melodie Edwards in a discussion with WPR reporters Caitlin Tan, Chris Clements and Hannah Habermann. We will dive into how the story becomes a 30-minute audio-rich episode and how we find and research stories. A 30 minute panel discussion will be followed by a public discussion!

GHOST PAPER (ING)

EPISODE 4 SEASON 10

The local newspaper, the Pinedale Roundup, didn't break the wolf torture story. Why not? Because last winter, News Media Corporation that now owns the paper laid off everyone at the paper except the editor, Cali O'Hare, to run the entire show by herself. It's part of the corporate consolidation of local news.
